Mommy Makeover Guides & Research
Our guides are written for women researching mommy makeover surgery and postpartum body changes. Every article is evidence-based, independently written, and medically reviewed against source data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and peer-reviewed journals.1 We are not a clinic, we do not sell surgery, and we accept no advertising from surgical providers.
Whether you are still weighing whether a procedure is right for you, comparing costs between countries, preparing for recovery, or looking for realistic answers about postpartum changes that no amount of diet and exercise resolves, the library below is organized to meet you where you are in the decision. Every page cites primary literature or professional-society guidance and is dated.

Our editorial standards
Every mommy makeover guide on this site is drafted from primary literature and then checked against three anchor sources: the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (plasticsurgery.org) for procedural definitions and cosmetic surgery statistics, the American Board of Plastic Surgery (abplasticsurgery.org) for surgeon credentialing standards, and PubMed-indexed peer-reviewed journals for clinical outcomes data.12 For obstetric and postpartum topics — c-section healing, diastasis recti, breastfeeding effects on breast tissue, pelvic floor changes — we cite the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).3
We deliberately avoid citing consumer-focused health portals, sponsored surgeon blogs, patient forums, and social media posts. Where a claim lacks strong published evidence — for example, exactly how long silicone scar sheets need to be worn each day — we say so plainly rather than fabricating certainty.
What "medically reviewed" means here
Medical review on this site means a physician or advanced practice clinician has read the guide for factual accuracy against the cited sources. It does not mean the guide was ghost-written by a clinician, and it does not mean the reviewer endorses a specific surgeon, clinic, or country. Where the evidence is mixed or evolving, the guide reflects that ambiguity instead of picking a side.
How the library is organized
The guides fall into five clusters: postpartum body changes and c-section aftercare, the surgical procedure and its component operations, cost and financing (including honest international comparisons), safety and risk, and recovery and aftercare. Most women arrive researching one specific worry — a c-section scar that still hurts three years later, a lower-belly pooch that will not go away, whether Turkey is safe — and use the sibling links inside each guide to pull adjacent context in as needed.
Independence and disclosure
MommyMakeoverIstanbul.us is an independent editorial project. We do not accept advertising, sponsored content, or affiliate commissions from surgical providers, medical tourism agencies, or product brands. When we mention a specific surgeon-verification tool, professional society, or research database, there is no financial relationship behind the reference. Our guides link out to source material so you can verify our summaries against the underlying evidence.4
When to talk to a clinician instead of reading online
These guides are educational reference material, not a substitute for a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon or your obstetrician. If a symptom you are researching — scar pain, breast asymmetry, persistent postpartum bleeding, unusual swelling — is affecting your daily life or is new, escalating, or accompanied by fever, please contact your clinician rather than relying on any online guide. Where a page in this library describes a warning sign, we say so explicitly and direct you to seek care.
Updates and corrections
Every guide is dated at the top and reviewed at least annually against updated guidance from ASPS, ACOG, and the peer-reviewed literature. If you spot a factual error, a broken link, or a source that has since been retracted, we welcome corrections through the contact form on the main site. Corrections are logged with the guide's revision history so readers can see what changed and when.
